Republican Party of Florida holds Special Meeting in Sarasota, Florida, 1/20/2023.

The meeting is for RPOF officers to vote in a straw poll to terminate Ronna McDaniel as RNC Chair. Several polls were sent out to Republican voters around the state which resulted in overwhelming support to terminate McDaniel. The RPOF officers’ straw poll results will signal to the three Florida eligible Officers, current RPOF Chairman, Joe Gruters, National Committeewoman, Kathy King and National Committeeman, Peter Feaman, if Florida no longer has confidence in McDaniel’s leadership.

McDaniel has come under fire in recent weeks as the RNC financial documents released revealed the lavish spending of RNC donor dollars while little funded America First Republican candidates around the country were denied financial help by the RNC.

RPOF Chairman Joe Gruters effectively endorsed McDaniel despite her record: “I look forward to working with Ronna McDaniel.” Gruters has declared himself for a candidate for RNC Treasurer, even insuring himself to be eligible for that election by extending his term until February. To run for RNC Treasurer, a candidate must be a current State Officer.

While the RPOF Special Meeting is closed to the public, Republican supporters from around the state will hold a rally outside the Sarasota Potter Building to support new RNC leadership.
